Cardinals cake
by Sue Henry
Cardinals cake The cake itself is just Duncan Hines Classic Yellow cake mix and the icing is decorators frosting consisting of 2 lbs of powdered sugar, 1 cup of crisco shortening, 1 tsp of vanilla and a 1/2 cup of water. To color the frosting I use Wilton gel coloring. This cake is a half sheet and I free handed the logo from my son's baseball jersey. I made this for his end of season baseball party. If you want to take your cake baking skills to another level, then you should consider looking at a book and video course by Maddy Pearson.
