Disney Princess Castle
by Sherry
This cake was a hit!
Like all little girls, my daughter loved Disney Princesses. So for her 4th birthday I made this cake. I made this two years ago so am not sure about the actual details but I think I used two boxes of store bought cake mix and three eight inch rounds for the base and then two ramekins to make the top tower. Then I used the recipe for Wilton frosting and colored with regular coloring. For the princesses I printed off pictures from the internet and covered the backs with packaging tape so the moisture from the frosting wouldn't soak through. I just pushed them in slightly into the base frosting and then piped around them. On the very top I just cut out a turret type design from paper, taped it together and pushed it down slightly into the top frosting and placed candles inside so I had to make sure she blew them out rather quickly. If you want to take your cake baking skills to another level, then you should consider looking at a book and video course by Maddy Pearson.
