Monster's Cake
So our son wanted a monster cake for his birthday. Since he was so insistent, my wife took the task upon her to make him what he wanted. Here's what was used. 9" Square Pan for the base White cake mix was used to make the cake preparation really easy. The icing was plain white boxed icing dyed with icing dye to make the colors. The cakes were prepared according to instructions on the box. Icing was applied with flat spatulas and a disposable pastry bag and a #825 star tip (comes with the 12pc kit we got) The bear's arms were sliced off the finished cake and put on the top of the head to make the "monster ears". They were held in place with toothpicks. It was not that hard to make and the mini teddy bear pan is a good beginner pan that lets you do lots of different cakes. If you want to take your cake baking skills to another level, then you should consider looking at a book and video course by Maddy Pearson.
