Happy 21st Birthday !

by Eileen C.
(Windsor Locks, CT)

My daughter always wants me to make her a cake for her birthday rather than buy one so for her 21st birthday I decided to try using fondant. I had head it was hard to work with, I also heard it was easy to work with so I didn't know which way it was going to go. I wasn't to sure about making the fondant so I ordered some that was already made. Well the purple was so dark I had to make some after all to mix with the purple to lighten it up. It wasn't hard at all. I will be making it from now on. I wanted the cake to have some bling so I wrapped black and silver beads around the layers. I wrapped a boa around the bottom layer. I found a halloween dish with rhinestones that I put the cake on. As you can see it turned out pretty good. My daughter mouth dropped when see saw it. Nothing to fancy but I had fun making it!
