Severed Arm Cake

Severed Arm Cake

My wife and I made this for our Daughters 10th Birthday because she wanted a Halloween themed birthday party.

The hand is made from pound cake, covered in butter-cream and home made marshmallow fondant that was colored with Wilton's copper gel food coloring. We then dabbed on no-taste red food coloring with a brush. More fondant under the hand to create the blood pool with more red food coloring brushed on. We then took a half sheet cake covered with butter-cream that was lightly colored with Wilton's brown gel coloring. We then crushed "double chocolate" teddy grahams in the blender to to make dirt. We place the hand cake on top of the half sheet and then covered the tops and sides of the half sheet with the cookie crumbs.

This was our first attempt at making a cake.
